The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB,has introduced the momentary shutdown of its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS).
This comes amid the continued admission train into tertiary establishments nationwide.
CAPS is the central platform JAMB makes use of to course of admissions into universities, polytechnics and faculties of training.
An announcement by JAMB’s Acting Director, Public Affairs and Protocols, Dr Fabian Benjamin, stated the board was in communication with the organisation internet hosting the CAPS platform as it sought to revive the system.
According to JAMB, “the Board is especially acutely aware of the timing of this disruption, provided that CAPS is the central platform by means of which admissions into tertiary establishments throughout the nation are processed.
“Rather than leave candidates, institutions and other stakeholders to speculate about the cause of the disruption, the Board is providing this update while all necessary efforts are being made to restore the platform.”
