The federal authorities has urged native automobile assemblers to extend manufacturing, enhance high quality and strengthen after-sales companies below the Nigeria First Policy.
CHANNELS TV quotes NADDC director-general Oluwemimo Joseph Osanipin stated Nigeria’s meeting vegetation have an annual capability of 370,520 automobiles. He stated prioritising native producers in authorities procurement would create jobs, scale back imports and assist home element manufacturing.
“We are essentially shifting the Nigeria First Policy. All automobiles procured by ministries, departments and companies, together with undertaking utility automobiles, should be sourced completely from licensed native assemblers or their authorised retailers.

“Every vehicle supplied to the government must carry a traceable Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) verified through the NADDC. Any supply outside licensed local assembly lines will attract immediate regulatory sanctions, including blacklisting and licence revocation,” he defined
Under the coverage, authorities companies should purchase automobiles from licensed native assemblers or authorised retailers. Foreign-assembled automobiles require proof that no native different exists and presidential approval.
The Bureau of Public Procurement warned assemblers that poor high quality, insufficient after-sales assist and coverage violations would entice sanctions. Government-supplied automobiles should even have traceable Vehicle Identification Numbers verified by NADDC.
