The Yobe State Government has distributed 160 bikes and other operational items to 886 forest guards deployed to assist safety operations throughout the state.
The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Muhammad Goje, introduced the distribution on Tuesday, saying the items had been meant to enhance the working circumstances and operational capability of the personnel.
The items embody 900 raincoats, 900 pairs of rain boots, 900 blankets, 900 torchlights and 900 mosquito nets.
Goje mentioned the intervention was made on behalf of Governor Mai Mala Buni to present further safety assist and strengthen the safety of lives and property within the state.
The Commander of the 27 Task Force Brigade, Buni-Gari, Brigadier General M.S. Mukhtar, described the donation as a drive multiplier that may improve the operational effectiveness of the forest guards.
