Troops of the Nigerian Army have foiled a suspected terrorist ambush along the Gusau–Sokoto Major Supply Route, MSR, in Zamfara State.
Security analyst, Zagazola Makama, in his publish on X on Thursday, defined that safety sources mentioned the incident occurred at about 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday, October. 27, 2026, when troops of 1 Brigade, whereas escorting personnel of Headquarters 38 Artillery Brigade, got here underneath assault at Mayanchi village in Maru Local Government Area.
According to him, “The troops reportedly engaged the suspected terrorists, forcing them to withdraw in disarray.”
He added that following the engagement, the troopers exploited the world and recovered a motorcycle believed to have been deserted by the fleeing attackers.
Makama said that the recovered motorcycle is presently in navy custody for additional investigation and mandatory motion.
He mentioned the troops have continued to keep up safety along the route to guard navy personnel and different highway customers from terrorist assaults.
