The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 32-year-old man, Samuel Ogochukwu, from Imo State, for allegedly using a nine-year-old boy to transport illicit drugs in an try to evade safety operatives.
The command disclosed this in a press release issued by its spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, on Wednesday, October 28, 2026.
According to the assertion, the suspect was arrested with 17 sachets of Tramadol, 5 sachets of D5 and 5 sachets of one other unidentified drug.
The police mentioned the suspect allegedly admitted to trafficking the substances and using the nine-year-old boy to transport them in order to keep away from detection by safety personnel.
He reportedly claimed that he engaged in the criminality to elevate cash to care for his ailing mom.
The command revealed that the suspect stays in police custody as investigations into the case proceed.
