Dr Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu has been appointed as President of the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC).
Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), disclosed this in a congratulatory assertion signed by the spokesperson of the agency on Sunday.
In her message, Dabiri-Erewa described the achievement as a proud second for Nigeria and Africa by extension.
She famous that Dr Shinkafi-Bagudu’s new place displays the excellence, dedication and resilience for which Nigerians are famously identified globally.
She equally acknowledged that the brand new UICC Head, prior to now, has devoted her life to enhancing entry to cancer care, strengthening well being programs and giving hope to households who want it most.
The NiDCOM chief added that Dr Shinkafi-Bagudu’s function would strengthen the visibility of Nigerian voices in world well being conversations and open new alternatives for collaboration between Nigeria, the diaspora and international companions on cancer prevention, early detection and therapy.
She wished her continued knowledge, energy and success as she leads this new workplace, whereas reiterating that the Commission will probably be ever able to assist her mission.
