Nigeria has referred to as for stronger Pan-African partnerships, the change of confirmed practices, and better alignment between continental commitments, nationwide insurance policies, and grassroots implementation.
Nigeria’s Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Hon. Imam Sulaiman-Ibrahim, made the decision in her remarks at the tenth anniversary version of the Africa Women Conference (AWC) at the moment holding in Accra, Ghana.
She mentioned a major milestone was the endorsement by Nigeria’s Federal Executive Council on 28 October 2026 of three necessary nationwide devices, particularly, the National Action Plan on Ending Violence Against Children, the National Policy on Menstrual Health and Hygiene Management, 2026–2030, and the National Care Policy and Implementation Plan, 2026–2030.
Dr Jumai Ahmadu, Convener, Africa Women Conference (AWC), in her welcome tackle at the occasion, mentioned the theme of the tenth Anniversary Edition is “A Decade of Impact: From Commitments to Action—Advancing Justice, Economic Power and Leadership for African Women and Girls”.
She mentioned the aim of the convention is to deliver collectively girls leaders, policymakers, improvement companions, entrepreneurs, lecturers, civil society organisations, conventional establishments and younger folks to develop sensible options for the development of African girls and ladies.
Dr Ahmadu mentioned AWC has persistently supplied a platform for his or her voices to be heard, their experiences to form coverage conversations, their enterprises to realize visibility, and their management potential to be strengthened.
Speakers at the 2-day occasion embrace Princess Hauwa Tanimu Aduda, CEO of Phinada Group of Companies and Founder of PHPA Grassroot Girls STEM Alliance, who’s Chairperson of the AWC tenth Anniversary Edition.
Others are Mrs Ngozi Oyewole, President of Commonwealth Business Women Africa, Ambassador Jacquelin Mohair from Atlanta, and Dr Cecilia Idika-Kalu, a Global Security and Gender scholar.
