The Nigeria Democratic Congress(NDC) on Sunday stated it has withheld the popularity of international chapters of the get together within the diaspora.
The National Publicity Secretary of NDC, Osa Director who disclosed this in a press release, expressed the get together’s appreciation to varied international chapters within the diaspora.
“The National Leadership of the NDC has reviewed its relationship with international chapters of the get together working within the diaspora and needs to make the next clarifications:
“The NDC needs to withhold recognition of international chapters of the get together within the diaspora.
“We are deeply appreciative of the immense support of various foreign chapters in the diaspora. We are grateful for their unwavering loyalty, guidance, and contributions to the party,” he stated.

All Progressives Congress (APC) & Anor, Suit No: CV/187/2025*, it was decided by Justice Peter Kekemeke at the FCT High Court in Maitama that, _”no political get together registered in Nigeria has the authorized authority to determine, function or supervise chapters outdoors the nation’s territorial boundaries.”
“The court further held that _”diaspora chapters of Nigerian political events had been unlawful, unconstitutional, and unknown to the legal guidelines of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
“Therefore, the NDC, in deference to the stated judgment, is halting recognition of international chapters of the get together and all earlier recognitions are hereby withdrawn.
“In jurisdictions where more than one group exists, a harmonization process has been initiated by the party to bring them under one umbrella,”he added.
According to the nationwide publicity secretary, the get together is at present finding out the judgment and has referred identical to its Legal Department for additional recommendation and steerage.
