Media must uphold fairness – Daily Trust

The Chairman of Media Trust Group, Mallam Kabiru Yusuf, has urged journalists to uphold fairness, accountability and independence of their reporting.

Speaking on Thursday on the official unveiling of the corporate’s converged newsroom, the chairman described journalism as “history in a hurry,” noting that journalists must try to report precisely and pretty regardless of the pressures and complexities of the occupation.

“If you choose journalism, you will be misunderstood and you will misunderstand others,” he stated, including that Media Trust recognised the opportunity of errors and the necessity to tackle them responsibly.
