A Federal High Court in Abuja has fastened November 25 for former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai to open his defence within the ongoing trial over alleged illegal interception of phone conversations.
Justice Joyce Abdulmalik fastened the date on Monday after dismissing a no-case submission filed by El-Rufai, ruling that the prosecution had introduced adequate proof to require him to defend himself in opposition to the fees.
The courtroom’s determination adopted arguments by the defence and prosecution over whether or not the proof introduced by the Federal Government established a prima facie case in opposition to the previous governor.
